Salman Khan Says Jai Ho In Advance

Jai Ho poster 03

As predicted, Salman Khan’s Jai Ho has opened to a good response at the ticket windows. It’s been a conscious decision by Salman to release his film in more single screens targeting the common man.
In both Mumbai and Pune, cinema halls have started the advance booking and are witnessing a great start for the film with tickets getting sold like hot cakes. Even in Bangalore, advance bookings started with a bang and tickets are almost sold out for the first day.
However in Delhi, advanced booking have started only in the major single screens and multiplexes.  In small cities like Noida, Gurgaon and Faridabad, advance booking has not started yet.
An interesting phenomenon has emerged as far as the promotion of Jai Ho is concerned. Ever since the time when the film went on floors, the whole focus has been on Salman. Now even as the film is about to hit the theaters, the buzz is more about Salman rather that his film Jai Ho.
Jai Ho is being released at a record screen count in India as well as in the overseas market. Salman Khan is not just the name of a Bollywood superstar. Salman Khan is a dream, a hope and religion for those who love cinema.
“Today it is about 200 crore, 300 crore or 400 crore. But I don’t see it that way. There is no ego that if Shah Rukh or Aamir’s film has done ‘x’ business, then my film should also do so and cross it. I wish and hope everybody’s film should do well so that the business is more, and our industry grows,” roared Salman Khan, while answering a question recently.
Will Jai Ho be able to match up to or break the records set by Dhoom 3?
We shall get our answer on January 24, 2014.

Jai Ho Music Review

'Jai Ho' music has its ups and downs - The Jai Ho Music Review

Jai Ho music review; Composers: Sajid-Wajid, Amal Malik and Devi Sri Prasad; Singers: Wajid, Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Shabab Sabri, Himesh Reshammiya, Keerthi Sagathia, Palak Muchhal, Altamash Faridi, Armaan Malik, Bhaven Dhanak, Brijesh Shandilya, Ujjayinee and Amal Malik; Rating **

Salman Khan-starrer "Jai Ho" is an action-drama directed by Sohail Khan. It is said to be the biggest opener of 2014. Only time will tell if the viewers hail the movie or not.

The album has nine tracks, including two remixes, but the composers' efforts are nothing to write home about.

The album starts with "Baki sab first class hai" , sung by Wajid. The song is good and relatable, but it's more like a speech given during a rally - the only difference is that it has music.

Next is "Tere naina maar hi daalenge" . It reminds one of "Dagabaaz re" and "Tere mast mast do nain" songs. There is obviously nothing wrong in it, but why the obsession with "naina"? Nevertheless Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal and Shabab Sabri have done a great job and the composers too create an effect by using tabla.

"Photocopy," sung by Himesh Reshammiya, Keerthi Sagathia and Palak Muchhal, is the third song. Reshammiya's voice has once again created its magic in the song. It is a good dance number and will be a hit during the Navratri season.

"Tumko to aana hi tha" is a slow number. Crooned by Armaan Malik, Marianne D'Cruz's and Altamash Faridi, it has Indian as well as western flavour, but there's no "wow" factor in it. People need to understand that romantic songs are not only about some lovey-dovey lines and slow music. The song lacks emotions.

For a change, "Love you till the end (House Mix)" turns out to be nice and peppy. Armaan Malik went behind the mike to sing the song. The beats are groovy.

"Naacho re" follows it. Sung by Ujjayinee, it is a mess. The listener will surely have the 'What the hell' expression after listening to the song.

The "Jai jai jai jai ho" title track is an effort by singers Wajid, Armaan Malik, Brijesh Shandliya and Amal Mallik. Its chance of wooing music lovers in urban India is however bleak and it will certainly not be accepted in rural areas too, although the beats are good.

A remix version of "Photocopy" by DJ Angel is next on the list. It is good to the ears. An apt song for festive season!

"Baki sab first class hai", a remix by DJ Angel, wraps up the album. The concept of creating a remix version of anything and everything should be avoided. There is nothing good about it and it is a waste of time and effort.

New Delhi: Salman Khan is back to conquer box office with his latest release. Going by the trend, it seems Salman Khan's latest offering Jai Ho may take over Aamir Khan's megahit Dhoom 3, which was released in December and set many records.

According to reports, the advance booking of the film has already started. Though the promotions of the film were played down, and focus was only kept on Salman Khan's star power, but still the advance booking is showing good numbers.

In Pune and Mumbai old cinemas are already booked and in Delhi NCR the advance booking has only started in Ghaziabad. Faridabad, Noida and Gurgaon are still waiting for the viewers.

Bangalore and Hyderabad are witnessing good numbers at the cinemas.

Being a non-holiday week, Jai Ho numbers might get affected.
